About the Founder

Hi, I’m Scott Darrow.
I started Simply Balanced Bookkeeping with one goal: to help contractors, developers, and trades keep their projects profitable and stress-free. I’ve seen firsthand how messy construction finances can get — progress billing, retainage, job costing, multi-entity structures — and I wanted to create a bookkeeping firm that truly understands those challenges.

With certifications in QuickBooks Online Advanced, Desktop, and Payroll — plus hands-on experience with industry tools like Knowify and Gusto — I build bookkeeping systems around the tech stack that best fits each client. From project management integrations to reporting dashboards, I make sure your books connect seamlessly to the tools you already use on the job.

When I’m not deep in financials, I enjoy camping with my family and exploring the great outdoors, which inspire values of teamwork, adaptability, and discovery.
